WITH the county basking in sunshine, there’s never been a better time to get outside and give Nordic walking a try with a free beginner course running in Hereford next month.

Led by Nordic walking instructor Zoe Hooper, the six-week course will teach you the basics of walking with poles – initially envisioned as a training method for out of season cross-country skiers.

With benefits to posture and putting less stress on joints, it is suitable for all ages, abilities and fitness levels.

Run from Belmont County Park at 10am for six Mondays starting June 2, the course has been organised by Brightstripe Cultural Health.

There is also an evening course starting at 7pm on Thursday June 5 at Aylestone Country Park, with six one-hour sessions costing £42.

With limited numbers, booking is essential; to do so contact Zoe by calling 01432 358232, texting 07870397352 or emailing zhooper@brightstripe.co.uk .
