IT was an historic moment for members of City of Hereford Rotary Club last week when an unprecedented four new members were signed up.

The quartet represented a variety of professions across the spectrum and were all recruited by membership secretary Heather Gorringe.

Even more remarkable was the fact that the sign-up meant the club now has two married couples as members.

The new recruits were Liz Hill, who runs the visitor service Rural Concierge; Peter Bolton, a retired electronics engineer and husband of the club's senior vice-president Judy Bolton; farmer and agricultural commentator Phil Gorringe, completing the second married members partnership with wife Heather and Tracy Morriss, events manager for Hereford City Council. Tracy's father, a fellow Rotarian attended the event bringing greetings from his club in Sutton Nonsuch, Surrey.

The four were sponsored by Bobbie Heavens (Liz Hill); Rob Sutar (Phil Gorringe); Luke Conod (Peter Bolton) and Heather Gorringe (Tracey Morris) and are pictured with president Paul Morris.

Just realised I left out the name of Tracy Morriss’ dad in that piece it’s Terry Mayhoe.
