Hereford woman ready for next challenge after raising £10,000 for cancer charities

A HEREFORD woman is preparing for her next fundraising challenge after already raising £10,000 for cancer charities.
Lin Mathias, aged 64, is taking on the 100km Ride the Night race through London next Saturday (May 31). She will be joined by four friends who are all donning brightly coloured shorts to raise money for women’s cancer charities.
"I thought I could do it and I like a challenge. This is my fourth cycle challenge, having previously cycled through Cuba and a number of other places," Lin said.
"My mum died of cancer many years ago now and I suppose you could say I am a bit female orientated and like supporting women's charities."
Lin, who is currently studying for a fine art degree, took up cycling to help her deal with life’s stresses a few years ago.
She has raised around £10,000 to date and is now looking to add to that total, money for Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
