TOES will tap with a 2-tone treat at this year's Dymock Music Festival, as The Beat take a bow as headliners.

Fans of eighties music will know the band for smash hits like "Mirror in the Bathroom" and "Can't get used to losing you".

The festival takes place as a fund-raiser for Dymock Cricket Club this Sunday, May 25, from 1pm to 11pm, after the Dymock Half-Marathon, and organisers have been amazed by the response this year.

Event spokesperson, Sara-Jane Watkins said: "Ticket sales have been phenomenal, and we are close to selling out; but we will still have some gate-sale tickets on the day."

Mrs Watkins believes that at least 1,000 music lovers will be there, with proceeds even set to exceed the £6000 raised by the festival in 2013, towards a new cricket pavilion.

Local rockers, the Ledbury-based Nice 'n' Sleazy will kick off, with Radio 2 Folk Award runners up Gentlemen of Few continuing the entertainment. Rockabilly covers band, The Rocker Covers, will lead up to Bristol showstoppers, Sheelanagig, who will set the scene for the headliners - The Beat.

Mrs Watkins said: "This year’s music offering is international in flavour and has something for everyone, including an acoustic stage showcasing local talent.

"The music will take you from a balmy lunch to breathless dancing in the night air."

The day will begin with the Dymock Half Marathon which finishes at the Festival site. The Festival itself kicks off at 1pm with the gates opening at noon. There will be a variety of foods on offer and a beer and cider tent sponsored by Wychwood’s Hobgoblin and Gaymer’s Olde English Cider as well as activities for all the family.

Mrs Watkins said: "The relaxed and friendly atmosphere which the festival offers is fast making this the key event in the Gloucestershire music calendar."
