A CLASS of primary school pupils gained some useful cooking tips from one of the UK's top chefs.

Year 2 pupils at Sutton Primary Academy, Sutton St Nicholas, took part in the world's biggest cooking lesson, led by Jamie Oliver.

Students made rainbow wraps - made from beetroot, carrots, pear, herbs and cheese - during the 45 minute lesson, which was broadcast live on a big screen last Friday.

They joined schools around the world taking part in the event, which set a new Guinness World Record for the biggest ever cooking lesson,

Teacher Sarah Watkins said the children "had a great time".

She said: "They had a fantastic afternoon getting hands-on with fresh ingredients."
