ONE villager is getting to know his new neighbours.

Lindsey Price took this picture of two baby Tawny owls, who were born recently, near Madley.

Mr Price has been putting up bird boxes around his home for years – and has seen little success in attracting birds.

But this Spring he was delighted to see that someone had made one a home.

Mr Price first saw one of the owlets while out working and, on his return with a camera the following day, spotted a pair of them who were dozing on a branch close to their new home.

Young Tawny owls typically take around 60 days to leave their nests and they will often return home to their nesting sites as an annual occasion.

Which means Mr Price may have these two neighbours for many years to come.
