CADETS from the 124 (Hereford City), 151 (Leominster), 1002 (Ross-on-Wye) and 1246 (Ewyas Harold) Squadrons attended the annual Herefordshire Poppy Appeal Awards which was held on May 8. Last year each unit took part in various ways to raise money for the Poppy Appeal, from bag packing to collecting in the High Street. Between the cadets and staff the total amount raised by the units was £8389.67, £6284.41 of this was raised by 151 (Leominster) Squadron alone.

At the awards 151 Squadron were awarded the Sir Thomas Dunne Cup, an award they have won consecutively for many years now, thanks to the help of their civilian instructor Val Hickin who organises it every year.

Last year was also the first time for 124 (Hereford City) and 1246 (Ewyas Harold) to take part in the Poppy Appeal, with 124 Squadron winning the Providence Award and 1246 Squadron coming runners up. Cadet A Vaughan from 151 Squadron was runner up for the Solutions (Ross) Ltd Cup for the cadet who raised the most individually. An excellent effort from all.
