A LEOMINSTER school is putting a modern touch on promoting itself.

Four year-seven presenters worked with staff at Earl Mortimer College (EMC) and Sixth Form to create a new promotional video which aims to show the best of the college.

It was launched at the school's annual awards celebration which took place last week and the response from families and students was so good the school has posted it on its website.

"Thunderous applause filled the EMC community theatre, and the pride on the audience’s faces was phenomenal," said Julian Wharam, assistant principal at the EMC.

"The idea came from our wish to share some of the great things that have been happening here in Leominster since EMC launched nearly four years ago, not least earning the best Ofsted inspection grading ever when the inspectors visited six months ago.

"We were fortunate to be granted a radio station and excellent ICT facilities when the new building was opened and our students really enjoy using the new technologies in creative ways, such as the new promotional video. It’s great to know that the students are as proud of their college as their teachers are."
