A WOMAN in her 60's was assaulted at Hereford's Merton Meadow car park on Monday.

It is alleged that a man attacked the woman at around 10am after she bought a pay and display ticket.

It is believed that he may have been driving a silver Honda Jazz and followed the woman into the car park.

The car's registration number starts with MW or WM, includes the number four, and ends with LV.

Following the assault, the woman ran to other women in the car park.

Police are now keen to speak to those people about what they saw.

“We are very keen to speak to the two women who were in the Merton Meadow car park area when this very unusual incident happened," said PC Mike Evans.

"They were seen to be walking from the direction of CRW carpets and walked with the female through Merton Meadow car park to the Old Market shopping precinct.

“Also, if anyone else was in the vicinity at the time or saw or knows of the car, we urge them to contact us immediately.”

Anyone with information can call PC Evans on 101, quoting incident number 173-12-05-14.
