DO you know of Malcolm Richards, Trevor Williams, Tommy Davies, Billy Walker, Ivor Watkins, Morris Holden, Tommy Lewis, Ivor Cooper, Dale Weaver, Tony Gladwin, Freddie Lewis or Reg Mayo? These are the boys shown left to right in the picture, tending the school allotment in 1946 in Mordiford, Herefordshire. The headteacher at the time was Mr Holland and teachers included Mrs Holland, Miss Greenhill and Miss Tyson. Do you know any other past or present pupils, parents, staff or governors of Mordiford Primary School? Following a suggestion by past pupil Charles Davies, the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association is organising a re-union on Saturday, May 17 for anyone who has contributed to the life of the school since the current school buildings were opened in 1873.

The evening will commence at 6pm in Holy Rood Church, Mordiford with entertainment provided by current school children and the Mordiford Community Choir. Afterwards a two course buffet will be served in the school where you will be invited to look around and reminisce with friends whilst enjoying a drink from the bar. Tickets cost £6 each in (advance please) and are available from the school office (9-3.30 weekdays) or Ali Watkins.

An exhibition of photographs and other school memorabilia will be available for viewing in the school and any personal photographs or donations would be gratefully received (these can be returned after the event). For more information please contact Ali Watkins on 01432 873110 or email aawatkins@btinternet.com. Any funds raised will be in aid of Mordiford School PTFA.
