Rubbish spoiling popular walking area
Updated 12:00pm Monday 12th May 2014 in News
AFTER living in Kinsley Wood, just outside Knighton for 41 years, Gina and Roy Lynch have been shocked over the last month at the huge increase in rubbish thrown at the road side just a little way into the wood. The rubbish started appearing just over a month ago and includes crisp packets, fast food containers, and drinks bottles and cans. Members of the public have joined the couple to pick up the rubbish and Roy has even put a black rubbish bag in the area in the hope that the people leaving the rubbish will put it in there. The road into the wood is alongside one of the areas most popular walks. Roy said “This is an important and well used walking area for both local people and tourists and in all the years we have been living here I have never seem anything like this”. Roy and Gina are appealing to people in and around the town of Knighton to help them find out who is doing this. Roy added “ In an area that is so popular with tourists it is awful that when nearing the town they are greeted with all this mess”.
