CHILDREN from Marlbrook holiday club recently spent several hours on the top of Dinedor camp in the company of Crixus Aurilius (real name Chris Atkinson).
Chris, an archaeologist from the Community Heritage and Archaeology Consultancy , dressed up in his roman armour and talked to the children about everyday life in the roman army.
The children also searched for roman pottery and had a guided tour of the hill fort. They also had the opportunity to look through the many unearthed finds that Brian Granthier had discovered in his nearby garden.
The event was arranged by Dinedor Heritage Group thanks to the generous support of the Heritage Lottery Fund.
