FOUR employees of Weston Cider have just undertaken a charity cycle ride April 4 and 5.
Westons Cider have been working hard to raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance recently. The Much Marcle based cider company have been involved in an initiative to help small to medium size companies do something for the good of the community called My Ten Days. It allows employees up to ten days paid leave to complete a charitable event or volunteer within the community.
Westons signed up to the scheme and four employees and one regular Westons contractor decided to complete a charity bike ride, raising funds for Midlands Air Ambulance. The team left from Thwaites Brewery in Blackburn, Lancashire back to The Bounds of Much Marcle. Their total mileage in two days was 180 miles, spanning four counties, Lancashire, Cheshire, Shropshire and Herefordshire.
The team decided to raise funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance as the charity is a great asset for all local communities. They then took up the challenge of riding from one of their key customers, Thwaites back home with a few training rides and plenty of enthusiasm along the way.
