KNIGHTON Cub Scouts spent four hours selling raffle tickets for an Easter hamper and packing customers shopping bags in the Tuffins store at Knighton recently. Customers repaid them by giving £435 in donations.
The money will be used to help pay for Cub Scout camp plus other activities, equipment and badges. The winner of the raffle was Susan Clark from Knighton.
The bag packing was part of the work the cubs have been doing towards their community and eco badges. Cub Scout leader Angie Jones thanked Tuffins, Mid Counties Cooperative for their help and all their customers who gave so generously.
The Cub Scouts are hoping to get the money they raised match funded by the NISA Making a Difference locally charity.
The annual Scouts meeting is at the church hall, Knighton on May 2 at 7.30pm. This will be a good event for people to find out more about the Knighton group and for parents who have children who would like to join.
