MUSIC In June returns to the Wye Valley for the sixth time this year. Presented by Wye Valley Music, the series will contain four concerts in four venues, again bringing superb musicians to the Valley. There will be two new venues – the impressive College Hall at Hereford Cathedral and the delightful Hom Church between Ross and Walford – together with the established venues at Monmouth and St Briavels, all inspiring places in which to listen to great live music.

The series makes the most of these settings by complementing each concert with social events, which many patrons choose to attend as a distinctive and popular element of the June experience.

The programme this year is especially varied, with a total of eleven composers represented among the 14 works to be played in concerts on June 1 at 4pm at The Bridges Centre in Monmouth, on June 14 in the delightful countryside Hom Church near Walford at 11.30am, on June 22 at 4pm at the stunning College Hall at Hereford Cathedral and on June 29 at 7.30pm in St Briavels Church. The associated events include lunches, private tours of Hereford Cathedral and St Briavels Castle and the now-customary strawberries and pink fizz reception at St Briavels.

Full information is available at www.wvm.org.uk. Booking is highly recommended and is essential for the social events.
