THE Cartshed, based at Newport House in Almeley, starts a series of gardening workshops this month, with the first session covering Companion Planting on Tuesday, April 29.
As well as learning which plants benefit from being planted together, the practical session will include learning how to propagate soft fruit and herbs using layering, indoor sowing, planting out and planting potatores.
The courses take place in the walled gardens of Newport House and are led by head gardener David Gray and Lynette Choppin. They involve hands-on experience as well as handouts and produce to take home.
There will also be a one-off pizza oven-making course on Wednesday and Thursday, April 23 and 24, demonstrating how to make a clay oven and how to cook in it.
Gardening courses run monthly until October. For further details and to book, visit thecartshed.co.uk or call 07796 421373
