PHILIP Price from Knighton has received Knighton town council's civic award for the second time in recognition of all the voluntary work he does for the town.

Philip's first award was about 15 years ago and now the council have awarded him another one for the work he has done during the last 15 years.

Before presenting the award mayor of Knighton Cllr Roger Bright said "Philip has done so much for the town including helping to run the annual show and carnival for many years, he is a Knighton Community Support volunteer, he has been the town council's Santa for many years as well as Santa for several other groups, he is a member of the town forum, a founder member of the local vintage club who hold their annual rally on his family farm, has been the official race starter at Knighton Primary school sports days for years and has recently volunteered to clean up the old tennis courts in the town.

Roger then congratulated Philip and presented him with the award. Philip said "Thank you very much, I feel very chuffed". Philip also thanked members of the council for inviting him and his wife Mary to their dinner.
