ONE of Hereford's most iconic buildings is set to open as an interior showroom next Friday.

Following a £150,000 refurbishment, the old Farmer's Club in Widemarsh Street is due to open as the new home of Simply Stunning – which specialises in furniture, fabrics and flooring.

The building was purchased in December 2013 by the furniture retailer which already occupies a superstore in Wormelow.

Martin Pearson, managing director of the company, said: “It has been an interesting and challenging project given the buildings architectural and historical heritage and we set an ambitious target to be open by Easter - but thanks to extremely hard work by a great team of builders and staff our doors will be open as we planned."

The building has undergone an extensive overhaul to give a city centre presence for the company and an interiors concept for its customers.

The interior showroom will feature gifts, furniture and fabrics as well as a coffee shop.

Blimey..
It's in a good spot next to the OLM. I hope they get this right because they'll have plenty of footfall. Rates are high and the refurb cost is expensive. They'll want to be shifting a lot of clobber to make it pay. I would guess they'll have to shift at least a grand a day to make it break even.
In the words of my favourite dragon, Scottish miserablist and unlikely owner of fitness clubs Duncan Bannatyne, 'I'M OUT !'.
