HUNDREDS of cycling fans from across the county rolled up to Bike Fest in Hereford on Saturday (April 5) to check out the latest in two-wheeled travel.
The free event showcased everything from race bikes to bicycles adapted for riders with special needs, with expert guidance and a resident ‘Bike Doctor’ holding a clinic.
Part of the Herefordshire Council Choose How You Move team’s push to get people peddling, the festival drew in bike enthusiasts from across the spectrum of ages and abilities.
Paralympic gold medallist Josie Pearson – who recently completed a 24-hour charity Spinathon at the Point4 using a handbike – was at the Bishops Meadow to show her support.
Phillip Price, the council’s cabinet member for infrastructure, said: “The event was a great success with lots of smiling faces as people tried bikes from the traditional to specially adapted bikes for those with special needs.
“We are delighted that so many people came along on the day and got involved.”
