LIBERAL Democrat peer, Baroness Sharp of Guildford visited Ross-on-Wye recently to meet local members and discuss Herefordshire issues with parliamentary candidate Lucy Hurds.

After lunch, Lady Sharp gave an impressive speech outlining many of the achievements of Liberal Democrats in government. Her background is in education and she is a member of the Lords Science and Technology Select Committee. With local councillors, she discussed developments at the Hereford Enterprise Zone. She was pleased to hear that schools are already involved in planning for skills requirements for the future.

She then toured Ross library with members of the Ross Library Group before going on to view technological developments at a local firm.
