A ROSS-on-Wye man is gearing up for for Sunday's London Marathon despite suffering from shin splints and an ankle injury.

Antony Smith will be raising money for Hope Support Services, a county charity that helps young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

“I have been inspired by what Hope Support Services has achieved in a few short years. It’s a local charity which provides much-needed support for young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. I would really appreciate it if as many people as possible could support me for this very worthy cause.”

Antony has previously raised money for the charity before by taking part in running and kayaking events, as well as cycling across Scotland.
