A MAN who is walking 5,000 miles though 86 UK counties called into Herefordshire last week.

Colm Farrell – or Hazard as he is known – has been walking since last July when he set off from the Scottish highlands and is expected to finish his epic journey in Cornwall this June.

He is raising funds and awareness for Console – a suicide prevention charity – and it was this cause that struck a chord with Hereford couple Richard and Rosie Evans.

They offered him a place to stay for the night while he was in Hereford last week.

Rosie said: "We lost a family member to suicide 23 months ago and helping Colm out seemed like such a natural thing to do especially when we found out the reason he was walking."

Colm is covering around 15 miles a day and still has a few months of walking ahead of him before he reaches his final destination at the end of June.
