Wye Valley NHS Trust boosted by board re-appointment
WITH a chief executive, a chairman, and a medical director all confirmed as going, Wye Valley NHS Trust (WVT) is boosted by key re-appointment to its board.
The NHS Trust Development Authority (TDA) has confirmed that Frank Myers will stay on as a non-executive director at WVT.
Mr Myers has been a non-executive director with WVT since November 2011. He has chaired the Trust’s Quality Committee and is now chairman of the Charitable Funds Committee.
As a Director of MCP Systems Consultants Ltd, Mr Myers has been responsible for introducing new high-tech approaches to asset tracking into the health service and, in 2009, won the E Health Insider Award for Innovation.
Mr Myers said he was “delighted” to hear of his re-appointment.
“Much has changed in the last couple of years and there will no doubt be more change in the coming years, but I count it a privilege to work with so many committed and caring members of staff,” he said.
Outgoing WVT chairman Mark Curtis said the re-appointment of Mr Myers brought “knowledge and experience” to the Trust at a “challenging time”.
Mr Myers was the founder of Myers Road Safety Ltd and continues to take his inventions in the road safety field to world markets.
In 1995 he received the MBE for services to road safety and export.
Non-executive appointments to NHS Trusts made by the NHS TDA are subject to the Code of Practice of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
Mr Myers has been appointed by the TDA for the now-standard two-year term from April 1 2014 until March 31 2016 and is entitled to receive a remuneration of £6,157 per annum.
