A COUNTY man has talked his way to more than £250,000 for a Herefordshire charity.

Mike Pullin, from Dinedor, has been raising money for St Michael’s Hospice since 1996 and his fundraising adventures have taken him and the Hospice Angels 1000s of miles across 19 countries.

A recent visit to Woolhope WI where he showed his film about taking ‘Frank the horse’ from Ledbury to London in 2002 saw donations totalling £301 made.

It takes the Hospice Angels' fundraising total to more than £250,000.

Mike said: “It’s been a lot of fun, and it’s thanks to so many generous people that we have been able to raise such an incredible amount of money. I’d like to thank everyone who has played their part in supporting such an important cause."

Mike set up the Hospice Angels, a motorcycle club which raises funds for the hospice, in 2003 and was presented with a British Empire Medal to recognise his achievements in 2012.

Sandy Foulkes, from Woolhope WI, said: “It was one of the best fundraising presentations we have ever had and Mike’s jokes and poems added to the enjoyment of the evening. We are delighted that we played a small part in the Angels reaching their total for St Michael’s Hospice – it’s a fantastic local charity”.
