THE biggest brains in Herefordshire business have battled it out at Phoenix Bereavement Support’s Business Quiz.

Oakwrights, based at Swainshill, walked away with this year's trophy and £470 was raised for the charity, which supports children and young people through bereavement.

Michael Connolly, marketing manager for Oakwrights, said: “We had a very successful evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the beer and the great atmosphere generated by all involved. It is great news about the money raised and it is a pleasure to help support such a wonderful cause.”

The event was held at the Beer In Hand on Eign Street, and contestants enjoyed a free half-pint donated by Ledbury Real Ales.

Linda Jones, chairman of Phoenix Bereavement, said: "It was fantastic to have the support of so many local businesses. We had some really fun rounds in the quiz, lots of laughter and groans as teams tried to work out the answers. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who makes our work with bereaved children in Herefordshire possible."
