A MUSIC FESTIVAL is set to rock a local village for the second year in a row, and put it firmly on the map as a early summer attraction for all ages.

The Dymock Music Festival was a sell-out success last year, when it was launched, and organisers are hoping that this year will be no exception.

The 2013 crowd pleased raised £6000 towards the village's cricket pavilion, and this year, proceeds will be for St Mary's church roof.

Event spokesperson, Sara-Jane Watkins said: "The organisers have raised their game once again with eight amazing bands to delight and inspire on our main stage. "Local rockers Nice and Sleazy lead off, with Radio 2 Folk Award runners up Gentlemen of Few continuing the entertainment. Rockabilly covers band, The Rocker Covers will lead up Sheelanagig, from Bristol, who will set the scene for the headliners - The Beat. "

She added: "This year’s music offering is international in flavour and has something for everyone, including an acoustic stage showcasing local talent."

The day, on Sunday May 25, will begin with the Dymock Half Marathon, which actually finishes at the festival site, the Pound.

The festival itself will kick off at 1pm with the gates opening at noon.

There will be a variety of foods on offer and a beer and cider tent sponsored by Wychwood’s Hobgoblin and Gaymer’s Olde English Cider as well as activities for all the family.

The Dymock Festival 2014 website, where details of ticket prices and online sales can be made, is www.dymockfestival.co.uk.
