PUPILS at Kings Caple Primary Academy had a very exciting week themed around World Book Day. A puppeteer and storyteller enchanted the children with her superb tales of dragons and fire. This was followed by a workshop session for both classes, which inspired the children to create their own stories.
For the rest of the week the school's focus was on Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine. The whole school had a fun afternoon making their own concoctions using various disgusting ingredients. They had banana toothpaste (thick cold custard), face cream (Philadelphia), engine oil (golden syrup), rats tails (strawberry laces) and many more. The children designed labels for the bottles and wrote instructions on how to make the 'medicines'. Every child also entered the World Book Day bookmark competition.
