CADETS travelled in to Hereford on March 4 for the Lord Lieutenant’s presentation evening for her cadets. Every year each of the cadet forces nominates a cadet to be the Lord Lieutenant's Cadet who will then accompany Lady Darnley on her official visits.
The evening is an opportunity for the outgoing cadets to be presented with a scroll and for the incoming cadets to be presented with their badge. The event is attended by many important people of Herefordshire and the cadets' role for the night is to assist with setting up the room and guiding the guests to their seats.
This year Ross and Monmouth had both the outgoing and incoming cadet. Cadet petty officer Simeon Beizsley's term of office came to an end while leading cadet Sophie Gooch begins. This year will be a very busy one for Sophie as she has her cadet petty officer promotion board coming up shortly and she has been selected to represent the Sea Cadets on an international exchange to Canada in July.
