OVER TWO years is a long time to wait for a local pint, but for villagers near Ledbury, the wait is finally over.

The Farmer's Arms pub at Wellington Heath, which was shut for 58 weeks, finally opened its doors to the public again this week, on Tuesday, March 18.

The pub was bought last autumn by John and Jo Baker of Bromyard, but the search for suitable tenants and an extensive refurbishment meant it took five months for the towels to come off.

The pub, in the heart of the village, will be run by Lawrence and Carolyn Joplin, and the pub will now be open from 11am to 11pm each day.

On the village web site, the Bakers said that after five months of hard work, they felt very excited very excited about their pub's future.
