AN adventurer who became the youngest British woman to clime Mount Everest talked about her experiences at Hereford Sixth Form College.

Tori James scaled the summit in 2007 when she was 25.

She told students about her preparations for the expedition and some of the problems she faced, as well as showing photographs and film footage. Her talk was to commemorate International Women's Day.

"Students were very inquisitive about the way I’d gone about the expedition and how I’d filmed it," she said.

"I am a huge huge believer that everyone is capable of more than they think and that you should get out there and find out what you’re passionate about."

Tori's next challenge will be in May when she will try to navigate Land's End to John O'Groats 'in a straight line'.

This has never been attempted before and will involve her spending more than 16 days on some of the UK's most extreme coastal, mountain and urban environments.
