FIFTEEN years after rolling out it’s lino for the first time, 2Faced Dance Company continues to offer Hereford’s B-Boys and -girls a place to learn and perform.

While the company’s landmark year will be highlighted by a three-night run at The Courtyard Centre for the Arts in June, 2014 will also see the launch of a new education programme for Hereford’s youngsters.

Next month 2Faced will host a three-day intensive Easter School, featuring classes in streetdance and urban contemporary, with a guest teacher from Illumination Dance Crew coming in to teach the breakdance classes.

And, for the first time, the company is reaching out to local music groups to get involved in collaborations as part of its Dance Platform FRESH on June 16 and 17.

Working in partnership with Herefordshire specialist music provider The Music Pool, the platform will link the unique talents of dance and music students, bringing together three of the four elements of hip hop; breaking, DJing and rap music.

FIFTEEN – the company’s centrepiece community performance – will keep the party going through June 19, 20 and 21 with surprise guest dancers and DJs.

For many young dancers the show will be the first time they will perform on stage – and for man y more it won’t be the last.

Throughout the company’s history, from ‘Slammin’ to ‘Detonate’, it has been the springboard from which dancers have launched their young careers, among them, members of the 2Faced’s professional company.
