AWARD-winning children's author Petr Horacek visited Hereford Cathedral Junior School last week to mark World Book Day.
The Czech-born illustrator captured the imagination of the youngsters with his illustrated stories and helped them produce a mural.
Pupils also designed and made a potato-based character from a book of their choice, which included Harry Potter and Pinocchio, while the older children were challenged to make a photograph of themselves reading a book in the most interesting and unusual place they can find.
World Book Day , held last Thursday, was celebrated in more than 100 countries across the world.
