FOLLOWING a successful application to the Big Lottery Awards for All and matched funding from Presteigne and Norton Town Council, Presteigne Skateboard Park is to get a purpose made pyramid. This will be installed by specialist contractors Park Leisure within about six weeks in time for the summer.
Councillor James Tennant-Eyles and Mayor Beverley Baynham met at the park to finalise the details of the installation and celebrate the successful bid, watched by town clerk Tracey Price.
James, who instigated the project and brought it to the Town Council following feedback from the young people at Presteigne Youth Centre, said he was delighted that the pyramid would be installed and thanked the Town Council for their support. Beverley Baynham expressed her gratitude to the Big Lottery for providing the balance of the funds, and she also thanked the town clerk Tracey Price, for all her hard work in making the application and administering the project.
