PLANS to develop a Hereford trading estate have once again been submitted - but this time do not involve a set of free public tennis courts.

The Hereford Times last year reported the concerns of many living in the Westfields area of the city who were upset that the courts off Grandstand Road could be destroyed under a joint application by Herefordshire Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to extend the nearby Three Elms Trading Estate.

Residents and local councillors received confirmation in January that the application had been withdrawn.

However, a fresh proposal has this week been submitted, but does not affect the tennis courts.

The application states that the new link road and development within the city centre will generate a demand for additional business space in the north of Hereford .

Therefore, outline plans have been put forward to extend the Three Elms Trading Est ate to enable firms to re-locate.
