KNIGHTON ‘Group for Improvements to Knighton Playground’ have been given £1,000 by store manager David Morris of Tuffins, Knighton.

The money came from Harry Tuffins annual fun day held at Churchstoke last summer.

The group have also been shortlisted to receive a grant from Powys County Council towards more playground equipment at the park by Knighton community centre.

Tuffins’ Churchstoke store raised over £42,000 at its annual fun day, more than 200 organisations in Shropshire and Mid-Wales benefited from the event.

The Knighton group missed the official presentations at the end of last year by Ben Reid, Chief Executive of The Midcounties Co-operative, which acquired the six Tuffins stores in May 2012.
