MEMBERS of Felindre, Stowe and Stanage, Llangunllo, Llanfair Waterdine, Whitton and Tref-y-Clawdd WI went to an event at the church hall Knighton to promote the local WIs, tell guests more about the organisation and to recruit new members.

The event was organised by the Powys Radnor Federation of WIs who will be holding similar events in other locations in the county.

At the event there was information about what the WI does, how to join or set up your own WI and demonstrations by Molly Moore on rag rug making and Jane Davies a textile artist.

County chairman Rebe Brick and vice chairman Kath Graham were both at the event to welcome people and answer questions or give advice about the WI.

Members of the six WIs provided cakes and drinks for everyone who attended.
