A NEW sign costing £760 has been erected on Brookside Square, Knighton to welcome visitors to the town.
The sign was erected by the Knighton and district Tourism Group with the support of Knighton town council.
Seventy percent of the cost of the sign came from The Rural Development Fund, Sustainable Tourism, Powys.
The new sign gives a brief history of the town and art work by local artist Jemima Jameson gives a bright and colourful pictorial illustration of the town’s central streets, roads and buildings including the Offa's Dyke Centre, clock tower and community centre.
The last sign stood in the same place for about thirty years, and was a little out of date and showing signs of wear and tear.
