A RETIRED healthcare worker is helping people to have their say on their experience at Bromyard Community Hospital.

Ann Popplewell, who is volunteering at the hospital following her own stint as a patient there, is gathering patient feedback as part of the Friends and Family Test, a government initiative introduced to drive up standards of care in hospitals.

Ann said: “I received excellent care as a patient at the hospital and being relatively new to the area I wanted to give something back, and this was a great opportunity to be able to help patients who live in my local community”.

Over the last couple of months100 per cent of patients who have given their feedback have scored the service highly.

Sandra Mahner, a sister at the hospital, said: “We’re very fortunate to have Ann’s help as a volunteer as well her experience as a patient, and this patient feedback helps us to recognise good practice and make changes where standards needs to be improved."
