MEMBERS of Ross and Monmouth Sea Cadets were in Ledbury at the weekend to support the crew of HMS Ledbury on its freedom of Ledbury parade. They were joined by a contingent from Hereford Sea Cadets, Royal British Legion standard bearers and local army cadets.
The parade formed up in Lawnside Road car park and, led by the Royal Marines Band Plymouth, marched into the centre of town behind the colour party and guard. Once in position the guard and band were inspected by Lady Darnley, Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire and the Commanding Officer of HMS Ledbury. Lady Darnley then proceeded to inspect the Sea Cadet Division led by Lieutenant (SCC) Adrian Gittens RNR.
After prayers and speeches by Lady Darnley, Coun Widdows and Lieutenant Commander Pressdee (Commanding Officer) the parade marched off to exercise its right to the freedom of the town.
The parade marched up to the top of town and then returned giving an eyes left at the saluting dais before returning to the community centre for refreshments.
