KNIGHTON'S light entertainment group Teme Spirits latest show was a great success with a large number of people attending the three performances. Farewell Frocks and Footlights was written by Hilary Baker and show producer Carole Pigram with assistance from musical director Katie Mohamed who wrote the total song.

The performance told the story of Millie the wardrobe mistress played by Sandra Sharp who was retiring after many years and remembering some of her favourite shows. These included Guys and Dolls, L'il Abner, The Sound of Music, the Likes of Us, Me and My Girl, My Fair Lady and Mary Poppins with small parts of each being acted out on stage. The performance finished with the after show party and everyone saying their farewells to Millie.

The cast were Millie wardrobe mistress Sandra Sharp. Other characters were Janet Beech, Suzy Bouchard, Lisa Bradbury, Will Collins, Arlette Cox-Harmsworth, Harry Cox-Harmsworth, Maureen Emmins, Roger Emmins, Sarah Green, Simon Green, Linda Hawkes, Paul Heseltine, John Lewis, Ann Lloyd, Mary Lomax, Lydia Rogers, Ian Sharp, Rose Whitefoot, Colin Wood, Brenda Wood and Helen Wyles. The children in the production were Xander Bradbury, Chloe Lewis, Nicole Pritchard, Eve Franklin and Mia Franklin.

The musicians were piano, Katie Mohamed, percussion Trevor Head, clarinet Ruth Middleton, saxophone Mandy Eccles and bass guitar Rob Clough.

Producer Carole Pigram said "Many people have had great enjoyment appearing in a huge variety of productions since the society's formation in 1971. We are all amateurs who enjoy singing, dancing or acting and we are always keen to welcome new members. Membership is also open to those who would like to help in the many jobs that have to be carried out behind the scenes.

Teme Spirits meets every Tuesday evening at 7.30p.m. from the beginning of the school term in September through the winter months in the community centre.
