LONGTOWN Mountain Rescue Team (LMRT) could be in with the chance of winning £5,000.
The charity is one of five organisations that have been nominated to win Principality Building Society's community vote for 2014.
As well as the cash, the winner will also receive a Christmas party.
Neil Hughes, deputy team manager at LMRT said that, if it won the prize, the money will go towards purchasing the latest technology to ensure it plans and undertakes search and evacuation operations more effectively.
