While the elements continue to batter the county, one happy snapper caught Hereford’s Bishop’s Meadow looking more like the French Riviera the last time the Wye burst its banks.

Jon Mould, who rides for Hereford’s first professional cycling team – NFTO Pro Cycling – was returning from a training session when he saw this cold-weather windsurfer making the most of the conditions in January.

The playing fields’ goalposts and metal fencing may have posed their own unique challenge to the mystery windsurfer – but Newport-born Mould tipped his cap to his fellow winter warrior.

He tweeted: “Look at this legend casually wind surfing on a flooded football field!”

There were also two workers from B.B. armed with small garden type lawn mowers cutting the grass this week for the second time on the putting green on the Bishops Medow.
