THE RECENT big breakfast event at the Bromsberrow community shop was such a big success, there have been calls to make it a monthly event.

Shop spokesperson, Jan Long said: "When Fran Robinson of the Ledbury food Group suggested that The Shop at Bromsberrow participate in the Big Breakfast event, the volunteers met to decide how this was to be done and what to serve. In spite of initial trepidation embarking on something never tackled before, the staff rose to the challenge and served a high quality continental buffet style breakfast .

"Rachel Hicks of Just Rachel ice cream provided samples of granola ice cream, which diners agreed were delicious. Where possible local products were used, including hot sausages and bacon, cold meats, dairy products, eggs and warm bread delivered to our door by Fabrice our local baker."

She added:"Some breakfasters had travelled from Broomsgreen, Ryton, Ledbury, Newent and other areas, and commented on the excellence of the Big Breakfast, saying that as well as the food they had also enjoyed the relaxed happy atmosphere which made the shop a real hub for the local community.

"Mr Tom Diss from Redmarley had booked a table for six friends and remarked that this venture should be held month, as it was a perfect setting for informal friendly breakfast meeting."
