TWO of the county's college principals have had their concerns over student funding raised at this week's Westminster Hall Debate.

North Herefordshire MP Bill Wiggin put points raised by Jonathan Godfrey, Principal of Hereford Sixth Form College and Richard Heatly, Principal of Hereford College of Arts to Tuesday's debate.

Both have concerns over funding for full time students up to 18 years old.

Westminster Hall debates offer MPs an opportunity to raise local or national issues and receive a response from a Government minister.

During Tuesday's debate, Mr Wiggin asked if the government could consider colleges being able to reclaim VAT in the future, to help with their funding.

Mr Wiggin has previously argued for individual school based decision making over changes to the school transport budget in North Herefordshire.
