A POWER cut left almost 5,000 Hereford residents in the dark last night.
Western Power Distribution say the fault, recorded just after 8.30pm, was caused by a fault on an underground cable and affected 4,700 people in the Whitecross and Putson areas of the city.
The majority of those affected – 4,196 – had their power restored within an hour and the remaining customers had theirs back by 1.30am this morning.
