NEW courses to help with conditions such as stress, anxiety and low mood are being offered to people in Herefordshire.

The free courses are being provided by Let’s Talk – a service provided by the 2gether NHS Foundation Trust.

While people can be referred on to the courses by their GPs, they can also view information and sign up online.

Rachel Parham-Connolly, of Let’s Talk Herefordshire, said: “With the New Year just getting started, now is a good time to think about our emotional health and wellbeing”.

“We offer courses to help with a variety of conditions and we’ve deliberately offered some courses during the day time and some in the evenings, to ensure people with work, caring and other commitments can attend.

“The courses are both psychological and educational in their nature. While they are run on a group basis, anyone attending can make their own decision about how much they want to share with the group and how much they want to observe and make their own notes.”

Each course lasts between five and eight weeks, with sessions generally lasting from one and a half to two hours.

The sessions are being held at the Kindle Centre, in Belmont Road, Hereford.

Courses cover a range of topics including managing your stress and anxiety, emotional wellbeing, overcoming obsessive compulsive disorder, overcoming panic, lifting low self-esteem and low mood.

The courses are educational and not a therapy group so for urgent mental health support contact your GP or the Samaritans on 08457 909090.
