IT was a white Christmas for one Herefordshire primary school this year, after shipping in an ice-rink to get pupils in the festive spirit.
For one night Withington Primary School became a winter wonderland – with more than 60 schoolkids getting their skates on.
Friends, family and students from partner school Aylestone High School also got involved, while those watching kept warm with mugs of hot chocolate.
“There was a fantastic buzz,” said vice chair of the schools’ PTA, Linda Goodson.
“Everyone was out there, from three-year-olds to those old enough to know better.”
Linda’s next project is even more ambitious – she is looking to bring a circus to Aylestone in the summer.
