AN elderly man was airlifted to hospital following a collision near Leominster on Friday.
The 70-year-old suffered a serious cut to the head after the silver Suzuki SX4 he was driving towards Leominster was involved in a collision with a green Land Rover Defender and the caravan it was towing just after 3.30pm on the A44 at Monkland.
He had to be immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being airlifted to the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
On Monday police said he was 'doing well' and the 36-year-old driver of the Land Rover was unhurt.
The road was closed for four hours.
An ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and a trauma doctor from the Mercian Accident Rescue Service were sent to the scene.
