THE Old Dance School bring their brand new show to Kimbolton on Friday, November 15.
Packed with duelling fiddles, soaring brass crescendos and foot-stomping grooves, the show draws on three widely applauded studio albums and five years together that have taken the band from basement jam sessions and cowshed rehearsals, to remote lighthouses, and headlining appearances at international festivals.
The name is taken from an ex-ballet school in Birmingham, a legendary jam session venue where the band formed in 2006.
Championed by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris, The Old Dance School’s provocative songs and cinematic sound have received plaudits from audiences, and awards including Songlines Top of the World 2010.
“This will be a hot ticket, so don’t delay,” says Arts Alive director Sian Kerry. “They’re a big band with a strong and growing following and were a sell out at a local independent event last autumn.”
The Old Dance School will be raising the roof at Kimbolton Village Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, November 15. To book, call 01568 610772
