A FARM worker killed in a tragic incident involving ploughing equipment in a field near Hampton Bishop has been named as Geraint Stuart Rees.

The 40-year-old, who lived on Rectory Road in the village, died last Thursday night while working on land owned by ST Leighton and Sons.

Nicholas Leighton said: “Geraint was well liked by everyone on the farm and he was a valued employee.

“I will assist the authorities with any further inquiries they may have.”

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned today in Hereford.

Detectives have determined the death was not suspicious, following two days of forensic investigation carried out at the scene.

The file has now been passed to the Health and Safety Executive.
